Keene State College colleague Yi Gong moves out of the classroom (got wireless? got whiteboard?) to teach his students in the Dept. of Education. And why not? Profs who don't see that traditional chalk talk and talking heads (and overhead projectors) are relics of the past need to watch Yi in action.
What is wrong with teachers just using their vocal chords to convey
information...like teachers did in the Bronze Age...and most still
do. So what if the kids are bored to tears for six hours everyday of the week? That's their problem.
Why should teachers SHOW & TELL when they can just TELL. Who needs iconic media...just because the caveman teachers drew pictures on their cave wall classrooms when they were teaching their kids how to slay the sabretooth tigers. Why make classroom instruction so INTERESTING?
