This photo was posted on Facebook by David Tagg, who I haven't seen since I was in elementary school and tagged by Andy Jacobs (he's the one in the glasses in the back row standing right next to me: I'm standing directly below the teacher). Face memory is interesting. Some of these people I have seen in the past five or 10 years (e.g., at high school reunions) but most I haven't seen in, well, a number of decades.
The big question is "why do I remember these faces (and their names)?" And, would a person with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) remember any or all? Facial recognition studies in ASD tends to be limited to "current faces." But I'm wondering about differences between "typicals" and individuals with ASD on "face memory." Now I'll just have to find another student to do that study...
